Why choose Carolina Screening Services?
Is it expensive?
Drug testing with CSS is surprisingly affordable. We buy in large volumes from our labs which enable us to provide testing at lower prices than you can negotiate on you own. Since we are an exclusively drug testing company, we can offer small companies the same incentives that large corporations get.
What are the benefits of on-site testing?
Employees can clean themselves up for a drug test in a matter of hours, plus there are Internet sites that are selling devices to help in defeating drug tests. We come to your location, business, home or job site to conduct the test, thus giving no opportunities to alter results. We also save you time and money from lost productivity as employees travel to and from laboratories.
How can privacy can be assured for the protection of myself or my employees?
All CSS collectors and procedures are DATIA certified and DOT approved. We follow these strict guidelines for all of our customers regardless of testing method or location. Unless otherwise requested we arrive unbranded and in unmarked cars. In most cases no one in your company but you and the subject is aware that drug or alcohol testing is taking place.
Can you help us develop a Drug Free Workplace policy, which is safe and legal?
We can help you implement a policy tailored to your needs. We will work with you to create a custom policy suitable to your unique circumstances.
A properly written policy is the foundation of a company’s program. An improperly written policy can tie a company’s hands behind its back when it needs to take action with an employee, which could then lead to legal problems and large settlements.
Is training of employees, supervisors, and managers important and why?
Yes, your supervisors and managers are your eyes and ears in the workplace. They see and hear what you cannot. Having them trained on how to handle situations for you can be very helpful. Our training includes how to spot and recognize abuse and how to handle the situation legally to protect your company. Training employees helps because it also encourages them not to use and abuse drugs and alcohol. Most employees are not even aware of the dangerous effects abuse can cause.
Why should I do drug testing?
Drug testing will help you create an atmosphere conducive to success. Employees who are drug tested are more secure in their jobs and are statistically much more productive. Employers with a well-constructed drug testing policy experience significantly reduced incidences of theft, absenteeism, and lost time accidents. Workers’ Compensation premiums are also often discounted as much as 5-10%! Another serious problem of not testing is the applicants you attract; other companies are drug testing, if you are not, then by default you are recruiting drug users.
Why is random testing important?
Random testing is the key to a good program. Pre-employment testing is a great screening method, but it is only the first line of defense against abusers. Random testing gives employees the perception they can be tested at any time. Therefore they have a deterrent not to use.
How often should I test my employees?
DOT rules may apply to you, and if so, the department will tell you how often to test. If those regulations don’t apply to your business, there are lots of options depending on your needs and budget. A general rule of thumb is to do random testing at least once a year.
What types of screenings do you do?
We do pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and return-to-work screenings for our clients. We provide all types of drug testing; rapid screen tests, 5 & 10 panel, saliva, hair, DOT, drug court and probation testing, GC/MS, etc. We also conduct breath alcohol tests. Our equipment is DOT approved for both on-site and testing at our office.
How long are drugs detected in urine?
It depends on the drug. Most narcotics can be detected for up to 5 days; Amphetamines and methamphetamines for 1-3 days; THC (marijuana) can, under certain circumstances, be detected for as long as 6 weeks. Hair testing can detect drugs for 3 months or more.
What happens if the test results are positive?
Unless your business is regulated by the Department of Transportation, all results will be quietly delivered to you, and the resulting course of action would be at your discretion. All results are, of course, kept strictly confidential.
Is alcohol really a problem in today’s work force?
Yes, statistics show that it is just as big a problem as illegal drugs. Alcohol is widely available and is legal.
Can we save money on our worker’s comp?
Yes, many insurance companies will grant a 5-10% discount if you drug test because drug testing reduces accidents in the workplace.
What should I do if I think my child is doing drugs?
We believe that offering parents a safe, private, and efficient way to test their kids before they ever start using drugs is the most effective prevention. But we also want to help parents who are struggling to help kids who may already have tried drugs. We will come to your home and teach you how to perform a test. We will also make real tests available to you a fraction of what you would pay at a drug store and support you in reading the results and getting further lab work done if needed.
Why choose Carolina Screening Services?
Our customer service is top notch, because we are not a large testing lab. We are an exclusive drug testing company focused on “On-Site” testing.
